Banks Sheridan, following a period of rapid expansion, relocated to prestigious new offices on Crewe Business Park in the summer of 2008.

Banks Sheridan is registered to carry out audit work and regulated for a range of investment business activities by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Stuart Banks qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 with the international firm KPMG. He stayed at KPMG until 1995 working as a senior manager advising owner-managed business clients on accountancy, taxation and corporate finance matters. Stuart left to take a partnership at Cooper Taylor in Nantwich and over the next ten years built up a successful corporate department and team at that practice. Whilst at Cooper Taylor he oversaw the acquisition of the Sheridan's accountancy practice, based in Crewe and was heavily involved in setting up the in-house financial services operation.
In 2005 Stuart, together with David Morris and Darren Walley, established Banks Sheridan as an independent company. In August 2008 the business relocated to larger premises at Datum House in Crewe, to accommodate both Banks Sheridan and its sister company Jones Sheridan Financial Services, of which Stuart is also a director.
Stuart specialises in providing business advice to corporate clients. He has acted as lead adviser in a number of corporate transactions including acquisitions, mergers, Management Buy-Outs and company disposals.
Stuart is married with two sons. Away from work he enjoys spending time with his family and holidays in Italy. He is the Treasurer of Nantwich Museum and is involved with several local charities. He plays rugby for Crewe and Nantwich RUFC, is learning Italian and plays golf.
After leaving school in 1980, David commenced work as a junior at an accountancy practice based in Stoke-on- Trent. Extensive experience continued to be gained in accountancy and taxation matters whilst based at practising firms in Cheshire and in 2000 he joined Cooper Taylor in Nantwich as the Senior Manager and Chartered Certified Accountant. There, he provided tax and business advice to primarily sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies and built up a large and varied portfolio of clients.
In 2005 David participated in the setting up of Banks Sheridan where he is now a Director. He continues to provide advice to his existing clients as well as actively seeking new clients and advising business start-ups.
Away from the office David enjoys badminton and spending time with his wife and young family.
After leaving school Darren worked as a trainee accountant at a local firm of Chartered Accountants in Crewe. In 1995 he joined Cooper Taylor in Nantwich and later became one of the senior managers.
He is a Chartered Certified Accountant and since qualifying in 1999 has specialised in auditing.
Darren has extensive large company audit experience, including preparation of consolidated group accounts and dealing with companies with international connections.
In 2005 he assisted in the setting up of Banks Sheridan where he is now a director. In this time he has built up a vast commercial portfolio.
In his spare time Darren enjoys supporting his local football team.
Karen has been working as an accountant for nine years, five years as a qualified ACCA accountant. Karen joined Banks Sheridan when it started having been working with Stuart, Darren and David since 2003. Karen works closely with a number of clients, providing bookkeeping support alongside accountancy and tax services. Her spare time is largely taken up looking after her young family, reading and cooking.
Shawn joined the company in the Autumn of 2005, having passed his final ACCA exams in the summer of that year. He has worked in various accountancy roles since 1995 which included a spell as a director of a company which operated within the construction industry.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and young son as well as watching most sports, especially football.
Kelly started out working at Barclays bank after leaving school. She began her career in accountancy at 17 when she joined a practice as an accounts trainee. In 2004 she joined Cooper Taylor and has worked for Banks Sheridan since it was established. Now AAT qualified, she is studying towards her final ACCA examinations which she will sit in December 2008. Kelly works on many of the firms audits and is involved in accounts, management accounts and VAT return preparation.
Emily has worked at Banks Sheridan since August 2005. She successfully passed her AAT qualification in June 2008 and is currently working towards her ACCA qualification. In her spare time, Emily enjoys socialising with her friends and is a keen Liverpool F.C. supporter.
Heather completed her A Levels at South Cheshire College and joined the Banks Sheridan team in 2007. She is currently working towards the AAT qualification of which she has successfully completed the Foundation Level. In her spare time she is an active individual who particularly enjoys going the gym and swimming.
Vivienne Banks was admitted as a solicitor in 1986 and worked within the legal profession until 2004 specialising in family and criminal law.
She assisted in the establishment of Banks Sheridan Limited in 2005 and is Company Secretary. She is responsible for the management of the office and, together with David Morris, organised the relocation of the business from Nantwich in August 2008, including the design and refurbishment of Datum House.
Vivienne is married with two sons. Away from work she especially enjoys family life, improving her spoken Italian and is a keen cyclist.
Kate is the ‘smile’ at the front of Banks Sheridan. She oversees the smooth running of the office administration and reception whilst also providing secretarial support for the company’s three directors.
Banks Sheridan are much more valuable than mere 'audit box-tickers'. Their full value to our business arises from their long association with us and the understanding that they have helped us with in respect of specialist tax matters.
Although you can't 'bank-on' your accountant / auditor for everything under the sun ... ... ... you can with a firm like Banks Sheridan who give more value than the mere cost of a tick in the audit box!
