Stuart was born in Crewe and, apart from his university years, has always lived locally.
After his degree, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the international accountancy firm KPMG. He left KPMG in 1994 to become a partner in a Nantwich based accountancy practice.
In 2005 together with his colleagues David Morris and Darren Walley, Stuart established Banks Sheridan Ltd with the aim of providing the best accountancy and tax advice to clients in South Cheshire and beyond. Banks Sheridan moved to Datum House in 2008 alongside its then sister company Jones Sheridan Financial Consulting Limited. In 2017 Jones Sheridan was sold to 1825, part of Standard Life PLC. Stuart was heavily involved in this transaction.
Stuart specialises in providing business and tax advice to corporate clients. He has acted as lead-adviser in a number of corporate transactions including acquisitions, mergers, management buy-outs and company disposals.
Away from work he regularly plays golf and tennis but his number one sport is rugby, albeit sadly these days as a spectator not a player.
Since leaving school, David’s working life has been spent within the accountancy profession. Initially starting as a junior trainee at a practise based in Stoke-on- Trent, David’s career continued at a number of firms in Cheshire gaining extensive experience in accountancy and taxation matters. During this time he also gained membership with the Association of Accounting Technicians and ultimately qualified as a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Having spent more than 30 years in accountancy practise David now provides tax and business advice to sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and LLP’s as well as personal tax advice to individuals.
In 2005 David participated in the setting up of Banks Sheridan where he now acts as a Director. He continues to provide advice to his existing clients as well as actively seeking new clients and advising business start-ups.
Away from the office David likes to keep fit through playing badminton and golf and attending the gym and enjoys spending time with his children.
