Be aware of a fraudulent scam currently circulating, involving false offers of a Winter Heating Allowance allegedly from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Scammers are contacting individuals via text, email, or phone, requesting bank details or personal information under the guise of processing an application to receive the payment.
Please be advised:
The DWP will never contact you unexpectedly to request sensitive information.
Do not click on any suspicious links or respond to unsolicited messages.
If you receive a suspicious message, report it by forwarding it to 7726 (free of charge).
